Onomastic suddenly collapsed in a train station on her way home from a visit here, and was rushed to a hospital where she’s now in ICU. I only have the roughest of details, but it appears her heart stopped briefly. The information I’m getting right now is that she’s got an electrical issue with her heart (I don’t want to throw clinical terms around, because the information I’m getting is unclear). They’re checking now to see if there are also blockages; we should know more about that later today or tomorrow. These would require a stent (or stents) — or possibly even bypass surgery.
Meanwhile, she’s in a hospital several states away from her home, and transferring her back to Maine will cost $3000. For that money, it oughta be a limo, not an ambulance, but… hey.
So I’m appealing to you all to help raise the money to get her home, where her care will continue to be excellent, and she’ll be with her family. Her two daughters traveled to be with her for now, but she needs to be near home.
